I feel sorry for his family. A loss of any kind is devastating, and the other piled on top of that.

People need to be calling them out. In their face calling them bald faced liars. Do it in public. Even better do it on air if possible.

It's a sad case of main stream media controlling what is put out to the public and the public has been trained to believe everything they hear.

An example. Someone posted a link in the "One Party Rule" thread about Trump saying to boycott Coke and how he drinks it and his hotels serve it. It's by ABC and they go on and on about it. For the last few years it's typical of MSM, if they can say anything negative about Trump the do all they can to get their opinion repeated. Now this story won't get any notice at all and for sure no criticism of the lies posted. They won't write they were wrong, but try to polish it nicely. "
As a gentle reminder, a month later, NYTimes quietly retracted that claim:

UPDATE: New information has emerged regarding the death of the Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick that questions the initial cause of his death provided by officials close to the Capitol Police.

Uh, Buck, we are making reference to what these same sources were saying on January 7th about the Sicknick “killing” not what they are reporting today, April 19th.

They all lied at the time.
There's a difference between lying and being wrong. Their initial reporting was wrong because their sources were wrong:

They've since corrected it.

Is it ok to report on a story, that creates a narrative (promotes propaganda), without checking on the factuality or correctness of the story being reported?

Their source was the Capitol police. I'm okay with them running that story on the assumption that the police would be reliable.

Regardless of the cause of Sicknick's death, the narrative should be the same. Violent rioters, incited by lies that the election was stolen, stormed the Capitol, assaulted police, and attempted to overthrow democracy. Fin.

a reputable newspaper and reporter would validate the info they get as being factual and correct before publishing.
