Hi all,

Today I went to a farm that had angus plus bulls. Below are two of the bulls that looked the best. Asking price for both is $2150. Let er rip and tell me what y'all think. These are all Brangus crossed with Angus

definitely an improvement over the other bulls. the first one looks ok to me. the pic makes his topline look off but it is actually another bull behind him, i think. he has nice length. he has kind of a broad head which i like but first calf heifers might not be so crazy about. he has an ok butt, could be a little deeper but overall not a bad bull. cant tell much about the second one but he looks testy in the last pic. Price is still a little steep for me.

wonder what the bull to the left of the first one looks like. hes got guts and nuts.

Well, I would choose the first one, but they aren't bad looking bulls. Good Luck with your pick. :cboy:

Not a bad price if you ask me for what your getting. Bulls look great. I've always been told 6 of your best calves to buy a bull.

With that in mind the bulls are sure cheap enough at 50% higher.

I like both bulls. Second one does look a little wild in his eyes but I gotta admit I really like it.

Other comments about this, but these bulls were not raised as pets and there were strangers there looking them over.
Some people get nervous amongst strangers.

Real nice looking bulls but is it just the pic or does the second bull have some really small nuts? If they are that small I would worry about fertility. Ecspecialy in his daughters if you plan to keep them. I like the guy next to the first one.

I believe, if I read the beginning of this thread correctly, the first and second are the same bull. His nuts do look small. I was noticing the little that I could see of the bull behind him looks like he has a good body from what little can be seen. Cypress might oughta drive over again and look that one over again. It's only about a 30 to 40 mi drive for him. Not bad considering what the bull could be worth to him.

i'm thinking the first bull is one and the 2nd and 3rd pics are of the same, different bull. i'm basing this on conformation mostly, and also by the buttsmears and mud on the face. could be wrong i guess if it happened to Caustic..

I noticed the testicles thing too...wasn't quite sure how large they should be though. Where should a good pair of testicles hang to? (no funniness intended!)

i think the first bull has ok nuts and the second one is lacking..
both pale in comparison to the bull to the left though. i wonder what the rest of him looks like and what his BW #s are.

its not so much the dangle effect as it is the circumference. scrotal circumference is correlated to fertility of heifers, supposedly. in beefmasters you want no less than a 31 scrotal circumference (that number may be higher now). different #s for different breeds i would presume.

so in a picture...how can you tell when they're too small or possibly too large? i mean...i knew the second bull's were lacking because it was one of the first things that caught my eye. and in comparison to other bulls, they looked smaller. is there really such a thing as them being too large?
