Why the rush? Are you looking to sell her, breed her back quickly, or was she allowed to be drug down by the calf?

I'm just tring to get opion's on what will stick to a cows ribs??? Would it be beat pulp or molasses or millet hay, clover??? That's all.

Ok, that works. What is your situation as far as feeding goes? Do you have a feedwagon? If so, I would go with beet pulp and ground hay - a mixture of alfalfa, grass, with a little straw as an extender. If you don't have a feedwagon, I believe I would feed a mixture of alfalfa/grass hay - possibly with a pound or two of corn/per animal. This can be done either via small squares, or a hay feeder that is moved on a regular basis. It's hard to say what amount I would feed, since I don't how know these animals are housed, whether they are bred back or not, or what grass is available.

I feed round bales and pasture at the same time, they are basicly free-range with mineral block, some bread and 16% sweet feed. I'm trying to learn how to feed something different. Would like to buy more in bulk than 50# bags. Any kind of info on mixes or straight feed would be great.

I would swap out mineral blocks for bagged loose mineral - that way the cattle get more of what they need to satisfy their health requirements. I would also have my hay/pasture tested so I knew what kind of protein was being delivered by both, and would then know what kind of protein I needed (if any) to meet their nutritional requirements. Your local county extension office should be able to give you the address of a testing lab. If not, try your state university - they generally have a testing lab, but the needs of the professors/students take priority, so your testing might take a little time. The feed options up here are limited, so I can't help you with DDG, corn gluten, or any of that sort of stuff - sorry. The fanciest we've ever gotten was beet pulp, and that's only because we have a local sugar factory and can get it by the truckload. I hope this helps a little.

so, tohave your pasture tested would you send grass clippings or sample of mother earth?? or both. thanx for advise on the rest of my ??? :D
