Just got back form the sale, and feeder prices have rebounded rather nicely...but bred cattle, and pairs returning to the farm are still sharply lower then this past year. Guessing that it's cus no one has hay for the winter locally.........

I once again packed my trailer and will have to return in the morning for the rest.

Decent and good pairs selling from 350. to 500. average, short bred cattle selling from 250. up to 500. average, some misfits selling much lower.

Last year it was about double if I recall correctly.

So, I am going to also guess that the prices for any cattle returning to local farms will be severely depressed ar least until spring? :cboy:

I unloaded a few lb cows this week. Highlight was a gorgeous 1535lb simmi cow that had just lost a calf (no milk) for 50 cents. Told the owners to make sure she gets whacked, I hope some poor sap doesn't wind up taking her home. Worst was an antique angus cow (1180lb) for 31.50. Wasn't much left of her, she's been drawing social security for a while.
