Snapped this picture yesterday while I was getting some pictures of my nurse cow - these are two of the four foster calves she's raising.

That's a great picture, Milkmaid. It's amazing that you managed to get a shot like that - alert calves in two different positions with an interesting background - and centred to boot. Definately a keeper.

Did you have to take a lot of pics before you caught them like that, or was it just that one lucky shot? Personally, I find taking pictures of livestock very challenging, so really love it when I see a good one like yours.

I definately agree! That is an awesome shot! I can never take pictures that look that good. Are you sure you don't sidelance as a professional photographer?

It was just a lucky shot - I liked the way it looked and I just walked up and snapped the photo. The one standing is a little skittish, so he jumped up when I approached, but the calf laying down is one I accquired because she had pnemonia and was about to die - she's been handled enough she's no longer afraid of me. I call her Telcey - lengthened version of "TLC". ;-)
