I'm hunting on 200 acres and they started today putting a high pressure gas line right down through the middle of it.
In fact it will go between my feeder and deerstand. Started moving the pipe and machinery in today.
I like progress, but it could have waited until after deer season  Sounds like downtown Dalas what with all the traffic.

Deer get used to regular noises. You might just be surprised.

He is right I cut beans during day and night and deer will walk out in the field and look at my machinery but when u get close they look till you get real close then kick in those rocket boosters but after they see some things a few times they pay it no mind.

I assume that once that line is put in, it won't have constant traffic around it. By next year, everthing will probably be back to normal. I've been reading about that pipe line, and it sounds to me like a lot of landowners in TX are pretty ticked off about the way negotiations (or lack of negotiations) were handled.

Brother is hunting west of Jacksboro and the same thing is going on there. He had to move his stand about quarter mile.

Maybe same pipeline.Don't know I'm about 30 mi from Jacksborrow. One of our ranches is about 13 mi north of Jacksboro.

What are you complaining about then. Haha

Because I had some pretty good looking bucks coming in on my feeder and now I have to re-locate.

They just might be there a pretty good while. I talked to the inspecter this morning and he said the contractor contracted the job too cheap and only paying his help $10 dollars an hour so therefore he has in-experinced help. We'll see how that goes.

Be there at quiting time Cal. Deer has got to see what is happening in there world. As soon as it gets quite they will be out and about.
In both WA and CA we used to have great deer shooting when cutting and felling timber. It wasn;t hunting because at lunch and when we would knock off for the day, the deer would mosey on down to browse on the felled stuff and it seems like just socialize.
We used to have great coyote hunting in one spot in the Mojave desert. The place was over run with jacks and we would go out in the evening and wack a dozen or more. A half hour or so after we quit shooting, the yotes would come running for the buffet.

A friend of mine shot three deer in a week while sitting on his Prentice Loader loading logs on trucks. Just kept his rifle in the cab with him and the deer would step out to watch what was going on. They are curious. We peeled the hide off another large tract and some of the hunters had a fit and wanted their money back. The club gave them their money back but the remaining members ended up killing 3 boone and crocketts that season while the harvest was going on so I don't think the construction will hurt you a bit.
