Not Cows but second best-GREEN...This old semi desert country is really starting to green up...Trees are finally leafing out...Sun came out this afternoon- wind went down- so I ran around and checked a couple of the river bottom wheat fields- and hay fields...

The chokecherry at the turnoff is starting to blossom :D

I've been working off and on this last week on the yard...Youngest daughter is getting married next month and wants the wedding in our yard....Some of this grass I just mowed on Thursday- and believe it has growed 3 inches....

Wheat fields are all coming up nicely...

Grass/alfalfa fields are really growing...Should be two cuttings on them if things work out...I couldn't get to the straight alfalfa fields because the road was under water- and I didn't want to rut things up- but I'm sure they are really coming along too...

What a difference in seasons. Someone posted a picture with snow also.
I cut shoulder high hay today. Pastures are waist high. Too much grass for a change.

Looking good there.
Is that winter or spring wheat OT?

checked the radar and it looked like you had alot of rain over you.

It is just starting to rain here. Hubby is out trying to get the last 248 acres of malt barley in. some parts of our fields are still under water. i'm betting he is going to make a couple of rounds and get rained out.

Spring wheat-- that was just seeded a couple weeks ago...Its looking like it'll have a good start with all the rain we're getting...So far this morning we're just getting off and on showers, cold and windy- but tonight they're saying it should turn into flat out rain- and we could pick up as much as 2 inchs... :)

Up on the pasture- so far this May we've gotten 3.5 inchs which is double the total for an average whole month of May (average 1.76)..... :)

We got .53" so far out of this storm.
Everything is late over here. Guys all over are not done getting the seed in the ground.

I luv herfrds-- we picked up 2.25 inchs out of this rain- and have gotten 3.65 in the last week... :D Creeks are flooding- and all the little dams are full of water... Life is good...
Only negative is the corrals are a swamp- and I think the planned branding for this weekend will have to be put off a while....

Nice pictures, OT. Do you harvest your own wheat or do you have one of the custom guys do it?

Best of luck to your daughter.

Hire it cut...The price of combines has just got too high for the amount I have to cut..

Here anything about the storms south of you OT?
Checked NOAA last night and had a tornado watch for I think 9 or 12 counties.
looked like the storms moved over to North Dakota though.

Saw some lighting to the west of us, but didn't get anything.

Moving pairs to the summer pasture today.

All I've heard of was lots of rain south and east of us...Water standing everywhere- and every creek running bank full..The Milk is only a few fleet from flood stage...

We had about every type weather except snow yesterday- and they are predicting a possibility of that tonite...

Helped a neighbor brand- sun was shining in the morning- and plowed thru mudholes and floated creeks to get in-- but when you got driving out on some of the alkali flats the dust was flying...

About the time we finished branding (3PM) peasoup fog moved in- temp really started dropping as wind picked up- started raining--- then about 10PM a thunderstorm went thru with thunder, lightning, quarter size hail (reports of golf ball size) that did no/little damage because of no wind- and picked up another 1/2 an inch of rain.....

Corrals are a swamp- as I had a calf today with a huge (bigger than softball size) puss lump on its shoulder that I had to drain and doctor- and it was nicer working outside the corral then in it...

Wierd Wet Weather....
