~~~i've been looking at the normandy cattle.seems like normXangus would be a great X.i was woundering if the calves would be black or spotted or both? anyone had exp.with this X? [black angus]~~~~~~~~~~tc
The cross you are thingking about is known as arerifax I think. Tim Olde "olde Cattle Company" from Kansas was promoting that cross several years ago. You might want to contact him for info. There was a amerifax association also you might be able to find that on the web. The cross was suppose to give you the best of both breeds with additional marbling from the normande.
it is a good cross, but for my personal interest Normande x Charolais or Limousin will be better and will be best if you crossbreed Normande with Simmangus or with a Limousin x Angus.
I think Normande Bulls are true Balancers.
