Today was my daughters birthday every year we have a party and asked if my daughter wanted to go to chuckie cheese she said yea.. so then she went to school and talked to her best friends both who have special needs about going and my wife talked to their mother and the mother said the twin girls could not go because its too busy and one walks with those canes that wrap around your arm like people have for polio and other has a hard time hearing and walking and brittle bones. They no longer get to see each other because they are home schooled now. My wife told my daughter she said well I don't want to go to chuckie cheese if they cant go that really shocked us she told my wife ask where they could go so she could see them. Long story short we ended up wife reserved a section to a restaurant and they hung out there. I gotta say being around the lil girls made me thankful for my kids health and also see the difficulty special needs kids have doing the simplest things we all take for granted. Just thought id share not trying to toot my horn or anything. :tiphat: to all parents of special needs kids.

Happy Birthday to little skyhightree1 !! :tiphat:

Your daughter leans her values from you and it sounds like you are doing what you need to do as role models. We need more parents like you and your wife Sky :cboy:

I frequently work with/interact with special needs children, The parent is often the forgotten one in the equation. It's draining on them: physically, mentally, and financially.

That just shows what fine parents you are! That was a wonderful thing for your daughter to do. I know it meant a lot to those girls and their parents too. That had to be a special birthday for a sweet, thoughtful, and very caring little girl!
I like to hear stories like that!

The parents are always 'forgotten' if they are putting their kids first. I admire and have the highest regard/respect for any parent that does their job especially when they need to go above and beyond.
