Say a guy has a handgun in his belongings but not on his person but in reach.
In a tackle box, backpack, hatch in a kayak, hatch of bass boat.
Does not have a CHL
Is that legal ?

Here you only need the license if its on your person. Your vehicle is an extension of your home as I think your boat is as well. Where you need the permit is only when you walk in a public place and you carry it on your person.

It does. Better be careful in North Carolina. I hear they are tough. Thankfully, South Carolina just passed a reciprocity agreement with Georgia so the same rules apply. I think we have one with Florida too but not sure.

If it's loaded it can't be concealed here in OK without a permit. I think there's something else about boats but I don't remember. You CAN, however, carry a loaded magazine right next to it as long as there is not a round in the chamber.

That's my understanding. We need a castle law like what it sounds like GA has by what Jo posted and and TX has.

Does it really matter what the laws are? I'd rather fight for my right to carry, then die because I wasn't carrying. The cops can't protect you, because they can't even protect themselves. Your safety is your responsibility and to depend on someone else for protection is bs.

I agree grit. But a fellow can get himself in world of hurt legally. Loose his gun rights altogether. We fish from time to time on the army reservation. No guns. I don't want to loose my gun rights but I wanta go fishing there. I'm not going to let fear stop me from doing what I want. I'm not depending on anyone else I gotta good sharp knife and I can get pretty rank. Don't take me wrong there's almost always a gun close to me and I believe I should be able to take it anywhere.
Thing is you can't protect your family in jail. And I don't believe they will let you have your gun there either

Depends on the state
Bingo.
You would in California. You'd be fine in NV or WY. Only states for which I really have first hand knowledge on the CCW thing.

Your right Fenceman. I try and stay away from the no gun zones as much as possible. I've lost 2 hand guns and a rifle to confiscation so far in my lifetime. I was supposedly wrong all 3 times according to the courts. But the only time I was really wrong was trying to get through the Canadian border check point with a pistol.
I feel like I should be able to have my gun anywhere anybody else can have there's in the USA. There's no where in the Constitution that says someone should have more power than someone else. And there's no where in the Constitution that states you can't have gun wherever you choose to carry one. I've fought for my perceived rights this long and will till the end. The Withhold of Adjudication has been a lifesaver for me.

Here you can't have a loaded gun of any sort in a vehicle without a concealed permit. A empty gun can be concealed in a vehicle without a permit. Loaded you need a permit no matter if it is concealed or out in the open in a vehicle. I don't believe there is any thing regarding boats.
