seen an ad for fescue hay that was talking about nitrates beeing 530-500 and needed mixed 50/50 from breed cows had never heard this b4 just looking for a little info
is that 530 ppm?? Is so it shouldn't hurt to feed it period.

Thats pretty high nitrate levels for any bovine.
Cut it ( the hay)by 1/3 and you should be safe.
Someone over fertilized their field.
Tb i havent had to deal with it but what ive read its somewhere at about 300 ppm is considered dangerous for breds. But ill defer to your experience

no problem hook i have heard of it in corn stalks and a few other things but never hay when i seen the ad it just made me think twice about something i have done all my life. i would much rather check than cause harm

At least the guy that owns is has already had it tested and is willing to share the information. Says a lot for him.
