So sorry , I should have posted much earlier about our Nikkle's recovery especially after you all have been so very kind and supportive during her illness , shunt surgery and recovery :heart: Also, thank you so much for the pm's and emails asking about her ! Those of my dear friends on FB already know how phenomenal she has been doing ( sorry about all the daily posts and pics of her :P ) .

Things have been going so very well after her liver shunt surgery last March (touch wood and by the grace of God and all of her guardian Angels) . She is on a normal diet now that has protein in it . She plays more than ever, I think even more than when she was a puppy . She also is back at work full time and continues to amaze us , and yes saves my butt at times, with how well she can work the bulls and all the gals .

Busy day here getting ready for below 0 F weather setting in tonight bringing in 10 inches of snow starting tonight we also had to scour guard the bred heifers and abort the heifer calves today .

Btw this is what a good working herd dog should look like at the end of a very productive day . My heart is bursting of pride and love for her ♥♥

You have been supportive for her from the day we brought her home on Xmas eve 2009 , her femoral hip removal surgery in Oct 2010 and then her liver shunt surgery in March 2013.

So very thankful to have such a fantastic support system when some think it is just a dumb dog .
Boy are they missing out in life .
 
There's nothing like a dog to make one's life complete!!
We can't all have a talking dog, but each one tells it's own story anway.
 
Great to hear she is doing great and from the looks of the photo it appears she almost has her humans trained properly. ;-)

Wonderful news Hillsdown. She sure doesn't look like the same dog we saw when we visited.
 
I haven't had a dog in years, and don't miss it, but I know they're family members and it's great to hear she's doing well after what must be a pretty big ordeal.
 
Thanks all ! She has truly stolen my heart ,unlike no other .

For all we have been through I never would have changed a thing , except for her to have been born healthy for Nikki's sake .

3way, she actually looks like a dog now , and sometimes acts like one too . ;-)

LOL She looks pretty comfy there. So glad she is doing so well. Hadn't seen anything posted on her for awhile but I wasn't about to ask in case it was bad news.
 
Of course she doesn't sleep on our bed Bez ;-)

MO , she is doing so well now that we are actually looking for another BC puppy as she needs a work mate . A little worried about her feeling neglected but I told hubby he can take the new puppy with him and I will keep Nikki with me that way we won't have to fight anymore over who gets her for the day . :lol: :D

If you want the name of the breeder we used PM me - she only does a litter a year. Lots of working dog accolades for her line

If you want to know the lines I can send you ours

No matter what you do - best of luck - good ones are hard to find and they are not cheap - but you DO get what you pay for
