Needs another year..:)

He won't live another year if he gets off my land. That's a heck of a rack for this part of the world. Got one wider. Seen the wider genetics last three years, I'm convinced some high fence genetics got out.
I have never got a daylight picture of this one.

He has most of the velvet rubbed off, just a little hanging. My bucks still have the velvet. I haven't seen one even partially rubbed yet. They better get in a hurry about getting it off. Only 17 days until season opens.

Mowing this week, the first rut is on here close to the coast

I noticed them starting to chase a bit on cameras a couple weeks ago. Figured this little cool off the next week or so would make them go full on.

They are heavy pre rut marking off territory .

The fork horn I shot on Thursday was still in the velvet. Had two people tell me about a nice 4 point hanging out in a neighbors alfalfa field that is still in the velvet. The rut is at least two weeks off here and season closes on Thursday.
