Just thought I'd share this with you. We were at Niagara Falls over 2 weeks ago. For those of you who have never been there, I'd highly recommend it! Taking the Maid of the Mist ride is an incredible experience.

Is that that ride thing that takes you out across a cable? Very nice picture.

Did the maid of the mist ride when I was about 10 years old. It was great! That was how many years ago? Never mind.

The Maid of the Mist is a boat that takes you right up to the base of Horseshoe Falls. The folks in the blue rain coats you see in the bottom of that pic are part of that. Even with the coats on the mist drenches you. There is also a rainbow that is breathtaking. Although standing at the top is great, you haven't experienced Niagara until you take this ride.

My wife and I took the Maid of the Mist ride a couple yrs ago on a hot day in August. It was great. Anyone ever do the Huricane deck on the US side. I did but you would have to be a little nuts to go there.

I went to Niagara Falls a very long time ago...and if the Hurricane Deck is what I remember it to be, no. My siblings and I were too chicken.

I think riding a barrel over the falls would be a much more real experience of the falls.

well dun...you ought to try it...let me know how it went

Where's the Hurricane Deck in relation to the other things there? I walked up a flight of steps after we took the ride...steps were wet but it was great. Got soaked repeatedly. :) I think I'll stay away from riding a barrel over the falls. lol Did you hear about the 7 year old that made it over the falls with just a lifejacket on? Uncle got too close in his boat...he died in the incident, the boy's sister was saved before going over. This kid was flung out about beyond the falls, went down into the water below and was rescued by the Maid of the Mist. I'll stick to enjoying the falls from a safer distance. :P
