On the ~NEWS tonight...well I could not believe it a man was arrested for the cruelty to his Farm animals, I would have shot him, he had left a three year old bull in a pen and never cut his hooves, they were so over grown the poor thing could hardly walk, he was in his own slurry....the cows were left in a small pen in thick discusting mud and the calves were left rotting where they fell. the list goes on. it was heartbraking and saddening to watch. They said the man was mentally affected, if this was the case then he should not have been allowed to care or rather not care for animals. There should be more vetting of Farms and livestock, to make sure this does not go on, what is in these peoples minds?

sorry just my rant, for seeing such evil things going on.

Unfortunately, people do a lot of evil things every day that we never hear about. Almost impossible to police it all. All we can do is report it when we see it or suspect it. I share your frustration.

Oh man, Chris, I can remember driving past a dairy when I was a kid that calves and cows were left dead where they fell. That, of course, was a long time ago. I asked Daddy about it once, and all he did was shake his head and say, "Darlin', I don't know what to say. Just know that it won't happen here...and we're working on it." I didn't know who "we" were, but after a few months, that property was up for sale.

It is sad .I don't understand if a person can't afford to take care of an animal. Why buy in the first place?
I understand the weather here has not been in our favor for the last few years. Hay is short and feed is high. But gee some of the cattle I've seen in pastures will just break your heart. I saw some yesterday that were nothing but hide and bones. I turned around and took a double look. No hay,no mineral tubs, just a bunch of dead grass. And a couple of dead cows.
