I started another because my thread had been closed to further post and replies, etc. A member called me today to say Happy New Year, and she told me my profile was active and could get PMs, etc. I haven't even tried since November, but I tried it today and sure enough, I am back on here. I don't know when or why, but the PM I had gotten telling me I was banned is gone, too.
Anyhow, I will use his thread to keep those interested on how Zeke is doing, how my operation is going, etc. And will answer questions anyone wants to ask about Zeke, the cattle, the pastures, the horses, etc. I am not going to get involved in any of the tired old arguments with the 4 trolls. If they post on here, I will just ignore them and I hope y'all do too.
I saw that thread Cowboy started about combining the 5 most controversial topics on here on one thread. LOL. It was a good idea, but I have noticed it didn't stop a couple of threads from deteriorating into arguments about CAB and Criolo cattle.
Speaking of Cowboy, he came up this morning to quail hunt with us, and brought his German Shorthair bitch. The boy has one fine bird dog there. More about that later. We hunted til about 3 or 4, then he left to go down to the Calcutta barrel race where his wife was. She had gone yesterday with her 1D horse and a student and her horse. They also took the colt I had sold her just to ride him around and get him used to the noise and crowds etc. Actually, I had let her trade their cow that had just had the Brahma calf in on him. I had priced the horse to her for just $7500, because I really did want her to get him and campaign l him. I feel like she is horseman enough to help that colt reach its full potential When me and Mike went down there, I saw that Chianina/Brown Swiss cow with the Brahma heifer calf. She said Cowboy wanted her to sell it, and she hoped to get $3k for the pair.... maybe even $3500,....and she'd buy the horse, I thought about it a while. I had already figured I could sell the pair to Wayne, the guy that raises those Brahma/Chianina/ Charolais, but not for that much probably. I had brought the horse down with us, and left it at the Kudzu place arena before we came down to their place. I had a feeling when they left my home place with those bulls I had picked up at Calhoun for her dad, that she would try to figure out a way to buy him. She and Cowboy were going to come up to the Kudzu place and shoot birds, after Mike got done dealing with Cowboy about buying his calves . (OMG, you ought to see his calves! But more on that later.) Anyhow, I told Angie to just load that pair up and haul them up to the Kudzu place when we all left to go up there, and she could pay me $3k and take the horse back with her, that he was in the barn up there waiting on her!
If she hauls him to some big races this year, and with his pedigree, she can get her money back with just 4 or 5 stud fees next year.
Any way, Happy New Year everybody. More up dates tomorrow maybe
