I am just finishing fencing about 10 acres, and it is a combination of grass, brush, (which includes many different species of things cows likely don't eat) and some fir trees. While I would like to kill it all off and plant a nice grass, the cows are getting hungry, and I want to get them on it, to give my other pastures a break. I will kill off what the cows don't eat when I bring them off of it after they eat all the grass. My question is, is there anything I need to worry about the cows eating that might cause them problems, or do they do a pretty good job of selecting what is edible? Perhaps a dumb question, but one that I need answered anyway. Thanks.
