I hauled for my neighbor today, I liked one so well when we got to the salebarn and they were tagging them in ,I bought her from him. She never got out of the trailer until the house. Heifer is 3/4 Hereford 1/8 Char and 1/8 Brimmer.
Figure I will put Obama on here and she should fetch a premium. If I don't keep her.

Nice looking heifer!

How were you able to buy her from your neighbor when she was already tagged?

Katherine

He rode with me to the salebarn and she never got out of my trailer. I bought her while they were tagging them in the trailer.

Kind of puts a lie to the deal about you can;t buy decent breeding stock at the salebarn

Why do you want to make the calf "a worthless, lying mutt "? Use a Hereford or angus, don't go for a half breed . look what it got us.................... :lol2: :( (I don't know whether to laugh or cry ) :bang:

Friend came by seen her in the lot, wanted to know where I got her.
I told him I paid 800 dollar's for her at the salebarn, I didn't go into the rest of the story.
He offered me 1200 for her, told him he was nut's.
Said after I put her with my Angus bull the price will be much higher.
The neighbor I hauled for today has got some more I am keeping my eye on.

That's a "neighbor/local" purchase, not a sale yard deal. The kind I like. Nice pick up, CB. :)

Kathie, you beat me to the punch while I was logging on. This is not a auction yard deal it's a haul a nice heifer, for a nieghbor or friend. The nice looking heifer never got off the trailer, so I stand by my words, don't go looking for replacement heifers at the sale yard ...... And guys that is half tounge and cheek.

CB, great looking heifer and I'm sure Obama knows with this heifer "yes we can" and then he'll lose the bankroll.

Pick up something new all the time. Never seen them tagged on a trailer.

There are a lot of nice heifers at the sale right now . People aren't keeping them because they are bringing so much . My neighbor sold a trailer load of yellow white face heifers a few weeks back that would have made fine cows . They always tag them on the trailer down here .

Alan I haul for several guy's around here and alway's have my eye's open.
I unloaded nine this morning at the barn almost as good as she is.
When we were cutting them out this morning I seen some a little younger I liked better.
I picked up an F-1 Brangus a month or so ago 6 month's bred soon as she calves and rebreed's she is going to the barn as a 3n1. She is a two year old . Got a few others that will leave by Nov. The only black cow I want in my pasture is Obama.
Anything that can have a calf around here is bringing a premium after the drought.

The tag is interesting to me. What we call a tag back calf here would be total junk. A calf like that would be grouped and sold. I guess I need to travel to some other sale barns, and see how things are done. Nice heifer though. Droughts on here. I bet a lot of people are selling their keeper heifers.

Cb neighbor said prices were .20 off on the calves today how we're they at Livingston ?

I don't know I didn't stay for the sale, I will ask a guy I know when I see him in the next couple of day's.
I seen him at the barn with some 4 to 5 wt's. I usually stay for the sale and pick up the check's for the guy's I haul for.
Neighbor I hauled for today is 86 and wanted to ride to the barn with me, but didn't want to stay for the sale.

Every person in this forum knows you have no friends. Why do you want to start a jargon like that? :D 8) :D

Nice looking heifer. We didn't think you played with heifers. Are you going soft on us now?

I really like her looks. Having a touch of ear is all the better.

Boogie I don't like playing with heifer's but with the price's they are bringing can't afford not to.
I saw a 2 yr old tiger 7 month's bred that would eat you bring 2100 buck's a few week's ago.
I have four standing in the pasture right now and can't decide to sell them as heavies about Nov. or calf them out.

I've been dumping several this year that didn't look as nice as that gal. Worst so far was 1075 after commission. You did well. Haven't sold any in a while.
