This is one of the girls I got at the Dixie Classic Sale last weekend.

Is it a desireable trait for their horns to curl like hers do? I think they look kinda neat that way.

Just depends on what you are looking for. Its called a triple twist. Most everybody these days are looking for the flatter, and straighter horn. But she's out of an old bloodline that goes back to the WR.

A lot of folks at the sale said I got the best deal there. I just couldn't pass her up.

She's a good lookin lady. Should have a number of good years left in her. What's her name, and pedigree like, if you don't mind me askin?

I don't really recognize much of her pedigree. Except for the Doherty (Probably goes back to 698) and Wichita (I am assuming goes back to W.R.). All in all looks like a good buy.

Who do you plan to breed her to after her Kodiak calf?

Interesting. She looks like the type of cow that could work well with a number of different bulls. Good luck with her.

Is that also what they call the "Texas Twist"? I'd like to find some of those. Not impressed with the long flat horns, I like these.

A rude question, so I don't mind if you don't tell. What did you pay for her? Are these type of horns "worth less"?

Yes, it is called a Texas twist.

I'll just say, I got a really good deal on her. I would have paid what I did just for her, so the other two are a bonus.

As far as will this type of horn bring less, not necessarly(sp), just depends on the buyer and what they are looking for in their herd.

Good deal then.

Sometimes a person can pick off something he likes, if it is "different" enough from the "status quo". Looks like you might have gotten it done.

Congrats.

(Not wanting to highjack Warpaints post)

Thanks, she will fit into the program real nice. She has great Bloodlines. Powder is grandaughter of Measles Super Ranger, and daughter of Geromino. The unborn calf is sired by Firecracker (The Bull with the Blue roam color), Firecracker is a grandson of Bail Jumper. The helfer calf on her side is sired by Bad to the Bone.

Ryan, my program could use a couple of straws of semen from RCR Scorpion’s Stinger.
