The first heiffer calf is from the first cow we bought 2 years ago, last year she had a charlois cross, this year bure breed Longhorn. Mama is going on 14 this Christmas Eve. Old WR cow. Only problem with her is she has bottle teets. When calf 1st born she can't get nipples in mouth so she has to be tied and miked because within a couple of hours, she has mastitus. No problem last year with charlois calf but this one it was very neccessary. Once miked and baby gets fist bottle mama can take over.
She is still mad a Warpaint for this. She chases him out of pen everyday. The rest of us are fine, its just him.

This next one is out of our son Kelly's calf. She broke her hip when she was born but is 2 now and has first heiffer. She and calf are doing fine.

Grandpa Kelly, as you can see she has no problem with us being around calf.

See her horns are a little cocked.

We could use some tips on bottle feeding. Done it years ago but maybe you have a tick or two to share. Kelly's Calf ( his first) is having a bit of problems. Not getting enough but not really hurting bad at moment. She squeezes bottle like she does her mama and it comes out haveing yet got her to understand sucking bottle. Her mama squirts when squeezed so she has it easy she thinks.
All opionions will be considered and probably tried.

How big is the bottle's nipple hole? If it's a brand new nipple, you might try making the hole a little bit larger. Also, new nipples are pretty stiff. Maybe try boiling the nipple...or put it in the dishwasher. Stick it nipple hole down on the spike you put the glasses on and run a fill cycle.

Picture 1 - I had a car that had that design on the hood where the paint was peeling, so she may need a new paint job.

Nice pics
