The wife and I and the two younger boys (18 & 21) drove to Quantico last week to see our oldest son graduate from Officers Candidate School on Friday morning. That afternoon we watched him receive his commission and then Mom and I pinned on those gold bars. Never been prouder!!! OOOAHRAH! :D

P.S. - If you are ever in the Washington D.C. area, take the time to go to the new USMC Museum. You can spend all day there and not see it all!

...will he be home for Christmas and New Year?

Yes, he doesn't have to go back to Quantico until Jan. 3, '08. He is working out of the St. Louis, Officers Selection Office (Officer Recruiter) until then. (That's less than an hour to work and he is only working some days.)

Butter Bars eh? :D Congratulations. May the Lord ......and the other Marines..... keep him safe:D
