I just found this site , we just bought a few acres and I was able to pick up a couple brahma cows from Craigslist. I just want to give my kids a since of accomplishment with having chores and hopefully raise one to eat. I am sure I will have lots of questions.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck. I hope you'll be an exception, but the phrase I highlighted above has the potential for some significant issues if you're new to cattle.
