Don't know if anyone can help me but I am having a problem with my new camera. The resolution is very high (14 megapixels) and apparently this is causing me to not be able to download pictures to Ranchers. I had a few pics on my memory card that were taken on my old camera and I downloaded them to my computer along with the new pictures. The pics from the old camera are all under 2.0 mb. The pictures from the new camera are all over 5.0 mb. I can upload the pics from the old camera but it won't accept the pics from the new camera.

Anybody who is tech savvy have any ideas as to how to fix this.

You'll need to resize them.
Go to your photo editing program, open the pic's you want to resize. Each program is different, so I can't tell you exactly what you're looking for, but there should be a tab somewhere that says something like resize photo.
Most will give you options for resizing in inches or metric, or pixels. Ususally something around a 3x5 will be suffiently reduced to give you a small enough file to upload. 2x3 if you want it to load faster. Don't forget to "save"/"save as" the file after resizing or it will still try to upload the larger file.
Hope this helps...

Wish I could help you out buddy. I'm having my own problems just finding film for my polaroid.
TB I didn't know anyone else in the world knew about the new Polaroid camera yet (very high tech). I can take a pic and after flicking the cardboard around for 5 minutes with my wrist and holding it up to the light Bam! I get a pic! I just can't understand why I cant download them to CT site. I lay the pic on my computer screen and hit enter, followed by shaking my computer and holding the monitor up to the light for at least 5 minutes. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? :help:

Nope...too technical for me :lol2:
Have you tried asking it nicely....maybe the shaking confuses it? ....or just ticks it off so much, it refuses to cooperate??

Isom I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm still doing hardcopy only...maybe by the time I'm ready to move up I'll understand it enough to help you out 2.

Waht software do you run to move the pictures form the camera to your computer. Do you have Office Picture Manager?

I take out the card and plug in into my HP printer and send the pics to my computer with the wireless connection. They sent software with the camera but I was going to try to do it the way I have always done in the past.

I think the problem is how much info this camera packs into each picture. @ 14 mpxls it is a lot.

BTW the camera is a Panasonic with a Leica lens system on it. For $250 it is an amazing camera.

Download your software onto your computer. It should resize it to each uploading forum that you use automatically ,to "fit" . Have you plugged your new camera into the USB connector on your computer yet because when you do it usually installs it automatically . It will say new hardware found and then install.

Sorry...I made an assumption about how you loaded your pics...I shouldn't have done that.

Yep, load the software onto your computer and it will allow you to do the editing necessary.
Since they're already in a file, you shouldn't have to reload these photos
(For future photos....If your computer doesn't have a port for your photo card, you can still load them thru your printer or you can connect the camera with a USB cable to your computer like HD said.)
Once you've installed the new software. Open the program and tell it to get the pictures you want to edit from the existing folder. Most photo software is pretty user friendly.

That's a great price for a Leica lens

I guess my alloted space at ranchers is full. Won't accept anymore so I've gone over to Photobucket......haven't had any problems since.

But if you have Microsoft Picture Manager (comes with Microsoft Office) you can "open with" - "edit picture" then resize, crop, and compress to fit Ranchers criteria.....

Easiest solution is to head off to Photobucket and upload there. Posting from there to CT is the same proceedure.

Going about it all wrong, Iso. That drawer that comes out you thought was a beer holder is where you need to lay that picture. Close and hit file>save. TaDa!

3way, photobucket.com is one way I re-size mine and post.

3 Way....ok, the perfect solution. Go down to the neighbors house...take the new camry with you. Ask him/her if they have a kid anywhere from 4 years up. Gender doesn't matter. Take the child home with you, sit him/her down in front of the computer and get out of the way. Pics will be taken care of before you can fix yourself a drink. :hide:

I finally used a lifeline and called my brother the GEEK who lives for the moments when I have to ask him for help. He says go into the internal settings and cut the resolution way down. That won't help me for the ones I already took but going forward.

I shoulda just listened to Hillsdown. :dunce:

If you will e-mail them to me I will resize them for you for $5 a photo and send them back to you. Or you can go to photobucket and do it there but you will still need to send me $50 a month so I can be sure you fully enjoy your free membership. Oh, and you are welcome in advance. ;-)
