My son's Braunvieh cow had her second calf on Monday. The cow was born Sept 23, 2005, so she had her second calf just before her third birthday.

She had a heifer. The sire is SAF Fame (Angus). This isn't the best picture. I'll try to get pictures of the heifer standing later today.

congrats on your new arrival :tiphat: isn't it amazing at how quick those calves get up and going? i try to get them tagged as soon as they hit the ground - otherwise the little boogers are to quick for me to catch. i'm anxiously awaiting for my braunvieh mommas to start fall calving as well.

Momma is saying, "It is time that you got on your feet, and took the pressure off of this udder, Young Lady! You have been lollin' around for 9 months now, and it is time you stirred your bones!"

Being a daughter of Fame, your Son has a good opportunity to have a "Poppin'" good calf - perhaps even a Show prospect, but for certain she should make a good brood cow, if he wishes to start a herd of his own.
