OK so this forum is for your favorite breeds , along with Gelbvieh we also breed Holsteins. We flushed and implanted until the dairy market collapsed here so we just breed and hope for heifers now. This is a new heifer out of one of our deepest pedigreed cows she is a Comestar Outside heifer out of a Tesk Solomon.

Angel (12 yrs VG 88{her dam Annie is EX4e) and Outside Apple Blossom DOB Sept.21/07 :

I have a 16 yr old due in two days that goes back to the old Bootlegger bull for those that remember back twenty odd years ago..This will most likely be her last calf so hopefully it is a heifer.

Well Rosland calved tonight sort of .The calf was breach so we pulled it.The beautiful little heifer had been dead for at least day or so :( .We have quarantined her with a new bull calf from the neighbors and she has accepted him so far.

Not really happy with the results that I have had with Fusted Emory Blitz. So far he has been nothing but trouble.Breeches and way too large calves for a calving ease bull  .

Anyways a very sad ending to great expectations but that is the breeding business ;-) .

Apple and her Dam are both well thank goodness and the calf is a ball of energy :D .

Nice pair, I have always liked Holsteins. My ex-wife wanted us to start a dairy, so I took her to one out by our house. Needless to say we never got that dairy started.

We once had a holstein nurse cow. She raised 9 calves
in 3 years. Beautiful pair in your photo!

Iowahawkeyes she weighs probably around 1500lbs.She is very gentle and really likes to be around people. She is also halter trained as she was shown quite a bit in her younger days.

She isn't milking anymore as she developed a high somatic cell count about 3 years ago.Her calf weighed probably 95lbs I didn't bother weighing her. This is the 5th heifer in a row Angel has had.

We haven't actually dairied in 7 years it was a lot of hard work but very rewarding. Now to even milk 50 cows you need a couple million in quota. ;-)

Waiting for Rossie to calve she has been acting strange all day.Cross your fingers for a healthy heifer. At least the weather is still nice here.

nice looking cow an calf.its a shame your not in texas.that heifer calf would sell for $900 right off the cow.
