Tried twice to AI my Jersey cow. She never did catch.
So I kicked her in with our Hereford bulls. Hopefully they get the job done.
Still planning to AI some cows out of our main herd next spring. Should be better because this years AI stunk. :lol2: That always happens, when something goes bad one year it goes better the next year.

you got the right idea.you can always AI next year.some cows just wont settle to AI no matter what you do.

Have a Holstein that was ruined by embryos left in her after flushing....have posted about her before.
She has been successfully bred every year since by a Gelbvieh clean up bull ,and has had heifers everytime, her first Gelbstein is due in Jan..

Sorry about the wasted straws though,,,,,,,,I feel your pain ,,,been there a lot especially with dairy breeds...

I've seen plenty of Jerseys bred Herford, no problems unless the bull was bad for calving ease to begin with. Jerseys are phenomenal when it comes to sizing a calf to the cow - there is a reason they are one of the few breeds with no calving ease EPDs.
