National Championship Chuckwagon Races Clinton Ark

Labor Day weekend. Best races Ive ever been to. There on a 2000 acre ranch with the little red river running thru it. All the spectators sit up on a bluff overlooking the track. About 20,000 people come from all over the country. Everyone camps on the ranch. They had 4or 5 big music shows and Baxter Black came did his thing. pretty dang good time.

Sounds like it.....

Is there a website?

I usually spend the 3 day weekend working from morning to night around here. I will mark my calendar for next year then........I'm know I can talk someone into going with me.

And maybe we will see you there.

Thanks for the info. :D

Thanks for the website.

Completely understand about quiting before you break something or worse. The bills don't stop just because of that.
:(

I was looking at the website, there is so much to see and do.
So a spectator can bring their own horse and participate in the trail rides, is that correct?

Snowy River Race - a thrilling horse race that includes two downhill runs and a plunge into the river. I would do this on horseback, but not too sure about a wagon.

J&T, you're a brave person, and congradulations on your winnings. I bet you miss it.

Oh, that sounds fun!
The only chuckwagon races I have ever gone to were at the Calgary Stampede, now that was intense ;)

I would love to go to something like that, unfortunately, I am a bit of a hike away ;) Thanks for the info though :)

So "the snowy river race" is on horseback, huh? woohoo!

Boy, that would be the biggest trailride that I have ever been on, usually we go with about 30 or so people.

We have pulled our horses from Texas to Wyoming, am sure that we can handle ARK. If we can afford the fuel. ;-)

lmao. Only about a hundred or so go on the trailrides each morning. :D About the fuel, now thats a different story.

Will have to see how fuel prices are.....I might just end up watching if I go. :) I'm sure either way, I would enjoy myself. :D

Hey, J&T Farm,
I've been trying to learn more about the races in Clinton. Do you know where they post the lists of past winners? The main website only has 2003 winners up. The whole thing sounds so amazing -- I can't believe more people don't know about it.

hey citygirl I didnt even notice that was 2003 winners. thats the only place I would know to look. Dan Eoff has a feed store there in Clinton and I get alot of feed stuff there. Next time Im in there Ill get onto him about updating that site.

Yeah I figured more people would have known about it.
