Name this fly

Fly season is over except for a very small fly that resembles a minature house fly. They like to swarm in bunches. What are they?

Horn fly- That all we really have trouble with.

I believe hornfly. They have the rufus eye color I saw in a colored picture.

PS1: M5, not a face fly or house fly just checked.
PS2: Definitely Horn fly. Not a stable fly for sure.

We have a lot of them here, as well as the horn flies... the bulls seem to collect them all... I've seen their backs just black with them, and the cows had none.. With the new bull he may let me spray them off once in a while, last ones weren't friendly enough.

Look like horn flies to me.
Just as the photos indicate...the vast majority of them alight oriented head-down, every time they land back on the cow.
