We decided to take the more scenic state road home from church this afternoon, rather than our usual trek down the Mountain Parkway, which is still a pretty drive in itself. We pulled off and I took a few pictures of Red River, on one side of the road and the hill on the other.

Then this evening while out feeding animals, attempted a picture of our dogs.

Went for a walk down in the field, started out with both dogs ended up with one dog and a cat, guess theu could be called the stubby tailed crew.

The Red River above Stanton and specifically up in the Gorge is beautiful. I need to take some time and visit that area.

Your pictures look like they are below Stanton.

BTW: your church must be a ways out of Winchester.

You are correct that was just out of Stanton heading toward Clay City. The church is about 40 miles east of Winchester, near the Gorge. Locals from that area tell me there are several arches, like Natural and Sky bridges around the area.

Pretty scenery. What kind of fish are in those streams?

Thanks, I have never fished there, but frequently see folks fishing around that area. If I were guessing I would say bullhead catfish, and breams are in there.

Gosh, man. You need to go up in the Gorge. The rock structures in the sandstone up there are amazing.

Thank you for posting those pictures, Christmas Eve day two years ago, it was warm 60 degrees or higher, and my wife and I had some friends visiting. We took them up to Natural Bridge and walked up to the bridge. The road going towards Sky Bridge and through the tunnel are scenic too.
