Here are some pics of my patch. I know it pales in comparison to all the southern growers, but believe or not, these plants are really big.

The green melon is my biggest muskmelon. In fact it's the only one I found. They are blooming heavily now and I see lots of babies.

The yellow pumpkin is called Neon, they start out yellow not green.

The next is my 725' rows of gourds.

The next is just a wide view of the patch about 4 acres of pumpkins and popcorn along the grove and corn maze by the road.

I also have one of our goat Billy Baroo. Cheap entertainment

I forgot to mention the seedless melons. Out of the 100 I transplanted there are 31 alive yet. So the jury is out on my experiment. They are flowering and look OK. We could use rain. We got .8" last Friday and it was really dry before that. I watered last year, but don't want to if I don't have to. I plan on fertilizing on the 4th of July. I'm very happy with how everything looks now, plus I feel I have a handle on the weeds(it's a big deal up here to be weed free)

Yours look very weed free. Mine were a few weeks ago but the pigweed is growing fast in this hot weather.

Sorry to hear about the seedless melons. Was hoping you'd say you were gonna have a bumper crop.

Melons in the grocery here now are $9-$10 bucks. With my luck, I won't be able to give them away.

Do you use "Calcium Nitrate" on yours for a source of nitrogen?

Hold your horses!!!

Seedless melons?

I need to hear more my friend.

You can send the info public or via PM - but I want to hear all you have to say!

I hate spitting seeds - what have you got and where did you get them?

Regards

Well you can buy seedless wm seeds from most companies, I used Rupp and Holmes. You need to have a pollinator with a ratio of 1 pollinator to 3 seedless. I planted Olympia and TriX 313 varieties.
I don't know that I will have success, it's a long time till early Sept.
I like to try new things and thought I'd give it a shot.

Seedless melons are popular up here and common. But where do the seeds come from when you want to plant them. :o :o

Well I am back and I will do some exploring for the types you named - I can eat a pile of that stuff on a daily basis.

Thanks
