Here are some pictures of a new Simmental bull I bought today. He is 11 months old. Please disregard the mud, as Florida has been getting lots and lots of rain. He is a purebred, and very docile. Out of Sand Ranch Hand, and a Powerstroke x Black Joker cow.

I'm certainly not a photographer, and I know all the pictures are of weird angles...and various stages of moving...so please forgive me.

No, he isn't roach backed. Just trying to walk in the mud, and his rear leg is having to reach under...

Fitz, that's not my bull. He belongs to the person I bought the bull from. The bull you're referring to is with some commercial cattle I keep on some pasture I lease.

thanks for the words... I think he will turn out to be a nice bull.

3way, he should be a money maker, at least on the commercial side. I do plan on using him to clean up after AI'ing this year though. I was looking for an outcross to my Dream On cattle. I have a bunch of own daughters and grand daughters to DO, and needed something to use on them.

How do you like the Dream On calves? Wondering because the bull i'm using now is a grand son of Dream On's.
Mainly want to know what milking is like on the heifers?

I like the Dream On calves, but it is like any other breeding....there are two sides to every calf. As far as milking goes, one trait that made Dream On such a hit in the Simmental breed was his ability to reduce the amount of milk in a cow. With that in mind, he isn't the sire to use if you're wanting to increase milk production. That doesn't mean his girls don't milk though. :)

Ranch Hand will definitely be calving ease! His calves are born small, but catch up pretty quick from what I hear. I have some semen in my tank on him, just waiting for the right female to use him on.
Dream On has some of the WORST milk EPD's, and I always wondered why. I never had a problem with DO's milking. I have lots of DO females, and none have a problem putting pounds on a calf.
Looks like a good bull. I would love to see pics of him when you get him home and out of the mud.
