This is the result of my Dad's imagination and easy acess to a welder. It was my Christmas present last year. He has made this farmall and now a JD. Has a few orders from folks for a cockshut and an allis. I think it is pretty neat. USPS aproved too ;-)

I like original mailboxes like that. We don't even have one anymore because kids keep on playing baseball with them. We just use a po box now.

THats pretty awesome. Looks like he put a lot time and effort into it. Looks great!

We had the same problem until I came up with the idea of the removable mailbox. Put it out in the morning, bring it and the mail in in the afternoon.

my son had a problem with that...he got tired of it...filled his mailbox up with concrete and put it back...next day he found a metal bat laying in his front yard right in front of his mailbox...I bet that didn't feel too good for the kid holding the bat...and them kids have never done it again since then

Thats funny stuff right there... Would have loved to see that in while it happend

Some local boys were riding around in a pickup mashing mail boxes with bat. One boy swung and missed, fell out the truck on his head. They had to take him to the ER. State police met them there. It turned out he wasn't seriously hurt, and I don't know what the punishment was but I would have made them replace every mail box that was damaged.

Our neighbors did the same.... but they got the really large one, and a small one... stuffed the small one inside the bigger, filled the space betwix the two with concrete, and still had a working mailbox. They also found a bat.... and some broken glass. Bat must have bounced to the rear side window... Bet the kids never do that again... :D

I heard a story of some kids that did that...and the kid broke his arm. But...prolly taught him a good lesson.

I know a fellow who had trouble with neighbors' kids that ran over their mailbox a few times - fellow went out and set a steel post in the ground (in concrete), put the mailbox on top, inside a steel "cage". That mailbox looks like you could hit it with a semi and it wouldn't budge.

Neat mailbox, cert! :)

Very neat mailbox, Certs! Your Dad is very talented, and you have something very special to be passed down through the generations. :)

We thought about putting cement in the mailbox, but were afraid we would get sued.

put up a sign that says "dont hit this mailbox...its filled with cement" in really small writing...then you can say you had a warning about the cement

I thought about putting a skunk in the mail box. Think that would work?
Don't know about working for mailbox baseball but thats a fun prank to hide in the bushes and watch! :P

I heard about a man that lived high on a hill in the woods who rigged a rope and pulley system to his mailbox. When the mail ran, he'd pull the rope and the box would lift up and travel in the air through the woods up the hill to the front porch. Then he'd reverse the process and set his mailbox back on the post for the next day.

I read in a magazine a good while back, that a man got tired of kids getting his mailbox and decided to fight back. He came up with some skunk smell somewhere and put it on the mailbox pretty much where the bat was sure to hit it. Said it worked great!!!! The kids didn't have a clue that they got the skunk pouch til the bat went into the car and by then the smell was there for awhile and all over them.

My husband has a regular Allis mailbox but your is much nicer!!!!

;-)
