I need to get some new tires for the Kawasaki Mule. Mine have more plugs than treads and they're starting to crack. I would like to up the ply rating and diameter if I can. My question is how big a tire can I put on the factory rim without rubbing or having to install a lift kit. The factory tires are 23/11/R10 4 ply. Could I go to a 24/11/R10 6 ply?

Some of it will depend on what tire you put on it also. I think I remember some people saying they could run 25x10s with out a lift. For $50 you can get some spacers that go on the front. They take maybe 20min to install and you can run 26s.

As for brands of tires I run the Mud Lites in 26x10 and 26x12. They are cheap and have lasted me a long time. I only have one plug in them and that is from a piece of metal. They will vibrate a little on packed surfaces as slow speeds.
