Thank you for the info.Im also in middle ga. on the bama line our soil is pretty much clay.I know if your in the middle or eastern part yours is probably sandy.Also I was curious how many pounds you put per acre.I see whats recomended but that seems pretty light to me. Thanks again,I may have more questions as spring gets here and I plant my seed.Like did you harrow it back in.Also I will be overseeding it in the rye I put out for winter just for erosion control.I appreciate your time and insight.

We are near Griffin. We used their recommendations, but my drill probably put in a couple more pounds per A than I had thought it would?

No we did not harrow. Once we sprayed and killed everything we could see, and there was no growth for about 6 weeks we drilled the seed. If you do not have a drill , it can be rented through the NRCS for a nominal fee. Then of course the rains came and the Johnson grass that we had not seen before germinated and took off like a rocket.

Im really not that far from you Im in Hamilton in Harris county I come through the Barnesville ,Zebulon area quite a bit .Anyway thanks for the info .I might ask some more questions in the future
