I'm back, last night from another trip. This time for Elk and Mule Deer MT. and scored early on a dandy 5X5 Muley and had a few more days of upland and duck hunting. The weather was to nice [70's and 80's] to do much serious Elk hunting. Did see a couple cows but, not ready to pull the trigger. The MT season is open until the Sun after Thanksgiving so, Elk hunting will be better later.

As usual I took lots of pics, but haven't checked them yet.

This is my 07 MT Muley.

mnmtranching,

That is a nice muley. How wide of a spread did it have ? It looks like you cleaned up on pheasents while you were out there ? Thoes are not ring neck pheasents in that picture are they ?

Stepper The rack is just a bit over 25 inches outside.
I really didn't want to fill my MT deer tag so early, with another month of season left. But I'm very happy with this deer.

The pheasants are Northern Montana Wild Ringnecks. Tough to hunt old birds. They sure are smarter than those early season young roosters.

looks like a good start to the season, hope it continues for ya. Is that a model 70 fthrwt by chance?

yup the rifle is about 8 years old. I have another model 70 that has a little shorter barrel and I think it's called a lightweight?
I don't like it as well as this one, so it sits in the closet

It's a 270 and I use 130 grain Fed Prem for all my deer and Elk hunting.
