A recent news report a new packing plant in SK. Construction to start in April 2007. Capacity is supposed to be 70000 hd per year with a single shift while not huge, the more the better. It is looking like death by a 1000 cuts for the packing industry in the US. It will be primarily owned by area producers but there is report of partnership including tyson. But that is just a rumor as i am not involved with particular plant i will try to confirm this.
