From NOAA
SHORT TERM...FOR NORTHEAST MONTANA...TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY...
FORECAST FOCUS SHIFTS FROM CONSIDERING NEAR RECORD HIGH
TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON TO CONSIDERING HOW MUCH SNOW TO
EXPECT ON FRIDAY.
THIS CHANGE IN WEATHER IS CAUSED BY A MIDLEVEL TROUGH
PASSING THROUGH THE NORTHWESTERN CONUS REGION OVER THE NEXT 48
HOURS.

Temps today were in the high 70's, and 80's with one site west of Winnet reaching 86 (that area and west - Eastern Front- has a winter storm watch for 6-12 inches of snow for tomorrow night in the higher elevations and up to 6 inches in the lower areas- with a high temp of 30 degrees for Friday)...

GOOD OLD MONTANA

They are still saying most the snow and cold is going south of us--with a possibility of picking up 2 inches here.....77 degrees here at 6PM....

Dang it this felt cold a few months ago. Now it feels too hot. wish it would rain or snow or something it is driving me crazy with the flies and wasps getting in the house.
Got 3 new fly swatters and found out that if you spray a wasp with both window cleaner and 409 it kills them quicker then Lysol.

I have froze my buttocks off this week. In the mornings, that is. Lows in the 40's and highs in the 80's. Heat in the mornings and AC in the afternoons. No wonder we are all getting ill. Windchills in the 30's. Too cold for me this time of year!!!

It is very crisp, though. This is our 5 days of fall between summer and winter. Summer comes about 15 different times a year here. If you don't like Texas weather, wait a minute.

Oldtimer, I was out in your neck of the sage last few days, yup! it hit 84 degrees on Wed where I was at. Bird dogs got purty hot. :help:
I remember, what was it 2 or 3 years ago about the same date? Got down to zero and snow horizontal for a day or two.  :help:

Yep you never know what your going to get for weather in Montana... Seen years where we had beautiful open winters all year-- others where the snow flew the end of October and you didn't see brown earth again until May  :( I remember one Thanksgiving lying in a washout for 3 hours trying to fill my A tag on a big buck I'd been watching and the high for the day was 35 Below....

We didn't get anything out of this Alberta Clipper that flew thru-- temps dropped and this morning when I went out it was a nippy 15 degrees....Only 27 now at 11AM....But the elk and deer hunters needed some cooler air...You can't be shooting anything when its 80 degrees and expect it to be edible by the time you get it packed out....

How was the bird hunting? Birds are spotty in our area-- anywhere our big June hailstorm went really killed a lot- and did in some nests--and cut down the numbers...But I'm hearing that other areas have good amounts...

Helped our friend work 250 head this weekend. Started in short sleeves, but ended in coats when it started getting dark. Had to brand a few and got the iron oven going to get warm by it. finished first group at 7:30pm Staurday and finished the rest the next day.
