Anyone have experience with this one: https://www.amazon.com/AgraTronix-07100-DHT-1-Portable-Moisture/dp/B00YS3XWFK/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_469_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=MNKZQCDJW7KT9TS03CVS

Or is the built in one better: https://www.amazon.com/AgraTronix-07120-HT-PRO-Moisture-Tester/dp/B00II4CX7S/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_469_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DGR52BPM169SX1CTYTDB

Probe length is targeting half the width of the bale?

Alternately, anybody installed a baler mount unit in a Vermeer Rebel 5410? https://www.amazon.com/Agratronix-Advanced-Baler-Mounted-Moisture-Tester/dp/B008DZJXNY

Never use a moisture meter and not planning to. I cut one day and skip the next day and start baling. If it hay baling weather you will be okay otherwise just wait. You do not need all of the gimmicks for what you and I do.

I have the 7120 (middle pic) i like it well enough. Seems accurate and came with a calibration tool. As accurate as the neighbors when we compared

I thought the same thing until last weekend. Don't know if moisture was contributing to my hay wrapping around rollers.

I'll probably be baling well into November if the rain holds out in between cold fronts. With the cooler temps, my benchmark of wait 2-3 days will be different.

We have moisture sensors in all our small balers and our 3x3. I think they're handy as heck. Sometimes parts of the field will be higher for different reasons. It was interesting and educational when we installed them.

I just got the middle one this summer and it is really accurate. I wish I would have gotten one years ago. At work we have a cab mounted one that interacts with the acid applicator and applys acid at the proper rate when needed. Around here if you make a lot of hay an acid applicator is a must.

I have the BHT-2 in the round baler. It is nice to have, but I dont take it as gospel I still check the hay with the old fashion twist method. If you watch the in baler display too much it will drive you insane as it can jump all over the place if there is a damp slug of hay and it will make you think about stopping. I use it as a double check and to tell me when to quit because of evening dew.
