LA Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs died last month a week before his 28th birthday.
career baseball earnings, 9.18 million dollars in 9 yrs including minors
mlb career record 28 w - 38 L
2018 was his best season at 8-10 and he was 7-7 this season at time of death.

Autopsy released last week concluded Skaggs choked to death on his own vomit
due to opioid and alcohol intoxication with a trace amount of fentanyl present.
His death was ruled accidental with neither suicide or foul play suspected.

It was shocking to hear of the death of a 27 yr old athlete and opiod use seems to
have come as a shock to those close to him. He was married just 8 months and there has
never been opioid use/problem reported in the Angels clubhouse or by player drug testing.

Yet another tragic outcome of opioid/substance abuse.

So they say.

Pretty much all elite sports are rife with recreational drugs. As long as you are good at what you do a blind eye is turned. As soon as you aren't needed anymore you are outed and dumped. A world i am glad i never got into. I probably had the talent physically but way too naive to have survived. I was angry with my dad at the time but so glad now!
