I'm looking at planting 5ac of Brown Top Millet for hunting. Current plan is to start working the ground asap. Drill it in late July and use a roller.

After it seeds out can a person just turn the cows in on it? What kind of seading and fert rates work for yall?

I have read and been told all kinds of numbers. :???:

10-20 / ac with 150-250 fert
15-20 / ac with 200-250
30-40 / ac

I would be cautious of the seeds getting the cows eyes irritated. Pinkeye? How about planting it now, let the cows graze it until August, then let it go to seed. I drilled 35-45lbs ac on tif 3 this year with good results with about 30lbs of N. Started the cows on it in about 3.5 weeks.
