MF 1040

Ok all, picked up a slighty used MF 1040 4WD the other day, has a little over 400 hours on it, complete with loader and backhoe. Looks almost new, for 7500 bucks. hope that was a good deal...never know.

Never owned a MF befere..so anyone know the weeknesses in this particuliar machine? Any oddities I should know about? :cboy:

Oh one more thing... builders plate states...Made In Japan........wonder who makes this one?

another PS... supposed to be 35 horsies under the hood, what ya think about trying out a small NH square bailer on that...yes, hills and slopes abound here.

I assume the NH baler is a square baler? You didn't say what year it is. It is not a Perkins motor. I suspect you are around 25-27 at the PTO so see what your baler requires. Can't comment on price as you didn't list the year. I suspect you may have a power problem pulling a baler. It may pull it but it will be real hard on the tractor.

Does that model have the two-stage clutch?
