Mel Mcdaniel

hate to hear it. Got my first Mel McDaniel 33 record  when I was about 14 or 15. Your right Alacowman, there will never be anymore legends like the old guys when they're gone.

You've gotta include "The Killer" in that category

one of my favorites
yep,, that one and let it roll are good ones

"Baby's got her bluejeans on" is still one of my favorite songs, of any genre.

I very seldom listen to any country music anymore, when I do it's mostly Mel McDaniel or Chris Ledoux.

What I don;t understand is how he and some of these others got so dam old!
Until I heard Ray price sining live a couple ofyears ago I alwasy though of him as being the age he was when he started. After hearing his voice having given out on him I figured he had gotten old, but I never thought of the others as doing the same.
When I see the ads for andy williams at Branson I always think he must be a hundred by now, face lifts sure can do wonders.

I went to see Don Williams at the Ryman this last fall. He came out of retirement for a 6 week tour and sold out every show. I knew it would be my only chance to ever see him, and it was great. He's still sounds just like he used to. He is one of my favorites.

I saw John Conlee a couple years ago at the local bar. He's an awesome singer but I couldn't get over how short he was. Dress him up in green and he'd make an excellent leprechan!
