I wonder what was cooking on the grill before they turned it over? If she started to bleed from the stab, they could just grab another hot coal and stick it to the wound and it would cauterize it.

The hot coal idea falls into the same category as "I should have said..............". You don;t think of it till it's too late if you think of it at all.
