I am looking at buying a Rice pelvic meter, and using it during the PG exam, before trying some terminal crossing. Is there a better meter to use?

There is measurement data out there for identifying high risk heifers - - but what is a reasonable square area for a mature cow pelvis, with the an outside chance of delivering a 90 to 100 pound calf?

Ask your vet for proper info.
A simplified size for heifers....take square inches , divide by 2, answer is lbs of calf she can safely have. 12 x 15 = 180 180/2= a 90lb calf. Heifer will be larger when she calves. Measurement is taken at yearling and/or prebreeding. There's more to this but this is a simple formula.

PS There are minimum sizes that vet can help you with
