U.S. House Ag. Chair Collin Peterson ( D - Minn ) is trying to tie a COOL to a MANDITORY National animal ID system. Now that is the kind of thinking i like, if the US producers want U.S. consumers to know what country an animal comes from then they should also know where an animal comes from with in their borders. So will COOL die on this, or will a manditory animal ID program be born ? This will be a good show down to watch in the future. Hopefully it will bring together all sectors of the cattle industry if one group wants one they can't get it without the other.
