Made 131 rolls second cutting 5/acre in Leon co TX very Clean and heavy fertilized. We just got done getting it all in the hay trap and then here comes the rain.
Our first cutting of rye and clover got ruined with 10 days of rain.
I hired a different hay baler.

I was set to go second week in May with first cutting. Little later than normal for me but I was busy with life elsewhere. Still haven’t gotten it in. 20 acres ready to bale tomorrow got wet today. Figured I’d have about 30 acres to cut back then, I’ve got 70 more acres to go. Usually I’d be opening up pasture for grazing, closed a gate on 25 acres yesterday to put it in line for baling. Crazy good year for grass.

Yes it is a crazy year for grass.
Early spring it looked like we were heading into a drought then the rain started. Lots of grass for this time of year.

The contractor did have time to get it done before it started raining. If he couldn’t get it baled before the big chance of rain he shouldn’t have cut it.
Fair enough.
Contractors get in a spot some times. Dealing with a schedule, weather and a perishable product is tricky. We would have let you made the decision to cut when you were scheduled. But if the weather made you cancel you'd have to get back in line. Only fair way to go about it.
Congratulations on getting yours up.
I've got a soggy mess out there right now. Maybe all the rain will pay us back on the backside.

It’s been fun around here this year as well.
Mine is up finally.
Rains quarter to half inch daily almost.
Rayburn has been at flood stage for months.
