Making A Smoker

Had an old upright freezer quit.
Son pulled it out of the junk pile and has started to take out the motor and other parts.
He is making himself a smoker so he can do all of his deer jerkey at once and not in small batches.

Now I like homemade jerkey recipes instead of the mix stuff.

So suggestions and ideas welcomed.

If it has a plastic interior don;t do it

I think it does have a plastic liner.
Take it out or not bother?

If you take it out then you're dealing with all of the insulation. You would be better off just getting a metal 55 gl drum and going from there

OK just plastic on the inside of the door.
The rest of the inside is metal.

It will work just fine just get all the plastic out of the door and inside. Then fire it up good a time or two before you put any meat in it.
