A buddy has an E35 Mahindra tractor that he uses to mow around his place. He says lately that the tractor is hard to get in gear, especially when cold. (Hard is defined as having to use a lot of effort to get the shifter to move into gear, not grinding when trying to get into gear) We both think the clutch is at fault. Anyone have any experience with this symptom? Gear case oil has never been changed but is at the proper level.

Thanks,

I think the Mahindra is a John Deere painted red isn't it? Ask your JD dealer. I mean after all they are both made in India.

Try adjusting the clutch - it nay help The pedal should have only a few thou clearance so its not pushing the clutch on all the time , but it needs full extension when it is pushed in.

Mmake sure the oil is at the right level in the gearbox

I don't think Kubota uses Mahindra engines.

No... they are far from the red John Deere. Kubota motor and drive train.

I do not think very highly of Mahindra at all... not for people who actually use the tractors. :(

Ya... Kubota drive train,,, Mahindra motor,,, in Mahindra tractors.

I work help out with my buddy who sells them and it is constant problems... 24/7. You will see tractors 5 or 6 years old and that look like he11 and are plum wore out.

Went to pick up a head chute one time. The guy says let me get my tractor and lift it onto your trailer. I heard something weird running and turned to look and here comes a Mahindra out of the barn. I asked what kind of motor and he said diesel. Sounded like marbles in a tin can to me.

The very first Mahindra tractors were exact copies of the International tractors made in India. In fact, they were made at the same plant with the same workers and the same tools.

When they started coming over here I noticed they were a lot like the Int's, even down to the hardness of the gear shifting.

India is the largest tractor market in the world. By far.

Largest tractor market or largest tractor exporter? I read somewhere that Mahindra and International are in cahoots together on something.

Largest market.

Yes, Mahindra and Int formed a joint venture in 1994 and Mahindra took over the Int plant in India.
