I found this interesting. Got a shipment of stuff at work with this written on the ticket.
You are reminded that if you re-package or re-sell this product, you are required to maintain integrity of Country of Origin labeling to the final consumer of this product.
It's a good thing for nuts and bolts, but not for meat? What the !#@%$?

That is the sorry thing about this whole argument- everything from our shorts to our silverware, tools to toothpicks is labeled to country of origin- but not the food we eat.... Why :?: Because the multinational packers, importers, and retailers would rather buy it cheap, import it, stamp it with a USDA stamp and pass it off as a US product and make large profits.... Why shouldn't the food we eat be labeled as to the Country it came from - Country of Origin Labeling- COOL.......... A US District Court Federal Judge and the United States Senate have questioned the safety of imported beef and the fact that it is not labeled to give the consumer the ultimate choice-- The Judge in his ruling closing the Canadian border even said that the evidence presented to him shows that Canadian beef constitutes a "genuine risk" of death to consumers....Could the big money of the importers and packers (including their backers like NCBA) be stopping the consumer from choosing where the beef and food products they buy comes from :?:

OT-Please do not try to tie my support of COOL to any R-CALF propaganda. The Canadian border issue is a seperate discussion and the two things are not related. As far as the "evidence" goes-it seems to be circling the bowl as of the last few days.

Chuck-- I didn't mean to tie you to anyone-- As far as MCOOL goes their is no question in my mind-- Consumers should be given the choice as to where the food they eat comes from- let it be Canada, Mexico, Australia, Uruguay or wherever... To me the USDA labeling of all beef with the USDA label so that packers and retailers can pass it off as a US product is a fraud and should be discontinued-- especially when beef slaughtered in those countries are not even inspected or looked at by a USDA employee..
