Lost our dog Lulu over the weekend. She was with us for about 6 years to the day. She was a shelter dog, and one day away from being euthanized when we adopted her. She was a good dog, a loving companion, and she will be missed by our family. I guess she was hit by a car. There were no visible marks on her, but she had been placed in our driveway, leading me to believe that after she was struck, the driver placed her off the road assuming she was our dog.
We have long had a problem with her getting in the road and with growth in the area, including a massive expansion of the Haliburton facility down the road, there is vastly more traffic than there was just a few years ago.
We wrapped her in her favorite blankie and buried her in the garden. She was a miniature weenie dog. Red with dopples. Our household is sadder this holiday season.
